This is a variant of the classic "Ludo"/"Mensch ärgere dich nicht". The twist comes into play on a roll of 1 or 2: instead of moving, you may upgrading one of your own pieces from Boy to Journeyman to Master, or downgrade an opponent's piece. Each level can defeat other pieces of an equal or lower level.
